Workshop: ‘Taming the Monsters: Perspectives on Anxiety and Hope in Art, Philosophy and Psychoanalysis’
The theme of the event “Taming the Monsters” was the coexistence of hope and anxiety. The workshop featured discussions on current manifestations of anxiety, experiences of anxiety and coping strategies, as well as the connection between anxiety and hope in various theoretical and practical contexts.
Representatives from the full range of disciplines within the Core Research Area “Perception”, alongside experts from the clinical sector and international scholars, discussed the themes of hope and anxiety in modern art, as well as in existential philosophy, phenomenology and hermeneutics, as well as collective phenomena which play an increasingly important role in the analysis of social and political developments.
