Conference: Radical Thinking in the Anthropocene
Taking the concept of ‘critique’ as a starting point – which is to be brought into productive relationships with other concepts and categories relevant to current theoretical discourse – the ways in which critique can be conceived and put into practice were explored within the interplay between theory and practice. In doing so, the aim was to focus on fundamental issues relating to the social and existential challenges of the 21st century.
The second conference of the “Radical Thinking in the Anthropocene” project, held from 26 to 28 June 2025, was devoted to the theme “Theories and Concepts of Critical Theory”. Alongside renowned keynote speakers such as Rodrigo Duarte, Lydia Goehr, Sven Kramer and Michael J. Thompson, the focus was on early-career researchers. The 2025 symposium was once again held in room MR 33.0.010 at the Wall University Centre, Merangasse 70, 8010 Graz.
