How can the objectivity of logical thinking be reconciled with the historical development of formal logic? Traditional approaches often resolve this tension by viewing the evolution of logic as a linear and cumulative process, thereby minimizing the epistemological impact of historical change. Challenging this view, the project hypothesizes that phenomenological philosophy offers the conceptual tools to critically reframe the question. By drawing on phenomenological insights, it aims to develop an alternative account that avoids skepticism, while preserving the normative force of logical reasoning.
